How It Works...

Keeping the neighborhood clean is a job shared by every resident and business owner. It's a small job that can have a HUGE effect on the culture of a community. The idea of this project is to generate community pride by allowing folks to "adopt" a corner in Bridesburg.

Become A Corner Adoptee...

It’s easy. If you want to help keep your neighborhood clean and can commit to the clean up schedule, please submit the form below and you will be contacted to set up your corner. Please include the names of everyone who will be "adopting" the corner, as well as contact information for at least 1 person on the "adopting" team. Thank you for taking the time to care for our community!

Responsibilities...

This program is still in the planning stages. But once complete, I see it working like this. Through input from the community, a list of corners that are likely to collect a great deal of trash and litter will be put together. We would then seek out individuals, families, businesses, local sports teams, and other organizations to "adopt" a specific corner. The "adoptee" will pledge between $10-$15, which will be used to fund the supplies needed to keep the corner clean, and will be in charge of that corner for 1 calendar year.

The responsibility of the corner's "adoptee" will be to upkeep the visual appearance and cleanliness of their assigned corner. In addition, they will make themselves avilable for contact if a complaint and/or concern is raised about their specific corner. The "adoptee" can decide a schedule that works best (i.e. daily clean up, every other day.) However, it will be a REQUIREMENT to clean up the corner at least ONCE A WEEK! If you don't think you can commit to that, please defer to someone who can.
